The $5 million Big Bang from Hublot watches is encrusted with 1,282 diamonds and was given by Beyoncé to her husband Jay-Z on his 43rd birthday.

  • The watch is part of a series called the ‘Big Bang Tourbillion’
  • It is set with at least 1,282 diamonds which have a total carat weight of more than 100

  • The bracelet of the watch is set with six emerald cut diamonds that each weigh more than three karats (plus many more besides)
  • A master New York diamond cutter hand chooses every stone according to color and quality; he is also responsible for cutting the biggest GIA-certified diamonds to make sure they all look the same and have the same ‘flavor’
  • The diamonds have been collected from various locations all around the world
  • They are also set by hand by the same master cutter; the process took more than 14 months of specialized labor and the assistance of an additional twelve cutters working for seven months straight to perfect the original piece, along with help from five different diamond setters
